About us
Okolea Mtaa Foundation is a community based organisation based in Kibera slum Nairobi whose its main aim was to help the street families and the most vulnerable families in the slum enrolling their kids in our art work and bead work programs.
Kibera being the biggest slum in Africa there are a lot of challenges people in the slum are facing and as an organisation we are working on making a difference and a positive impact to the people in the community.
We’ve started the art classes for the kids as we want to train them so they can depend on themselves in the near future since umployement is biggest issue in Kenya as whole and Kibera in specific.
What we do
Our organisation mainly focuses with the less vulnerable and street families in our community (kibera slum).
Our main aim is to help eradicate the poverty level by training them on some technical skills like art work. We teach kids how to draw using pencils and paints. We also have classes on beadwork dancing and football for our kids.
